Tina Blau was born in Vienna on the 15 November 1845. She began studying arts in Vienna where August Schaeffer von Wienwald was her teacher. Between 1869 and 1873 she continued her studies at the Academy in Munich as a student of Wilhelm Lindenschmitt. Afterwards she went on numerous study trips to Hungary, Italy, The Netherlands and France.
In 1883 she married the painter Heinrich Lang and moved to Munich where he lived. After his death in 1891 she returned to Vienna and died there on the 31 Oktober 1916.
Influenced by her role model Emil Jakob Schindler her characteristics in painting were landscapes and flower motives.
